BK Electronics XLS300 FF
June 2023

I purchased a pair of XLS300 Subwoofers.
These are a 300w 10" sealed box Subwoofer, with Forward Firing driver.

They are all analogue devices, with no DSP used.
They use a discrete bipolar class AB amplifier and a beefy linear Power Supply.

I modified the mains supply socketry.
The top picture shows the stock arrangement.
The bottom shows the IEC power outlet I added.

I had to move the power on indicator lamp before I could install a Female IEC outlet.
Although its Daisy chained to the Subs power inlet, I made the connection up stream of the subs fuse. This way the fuse will not be overloaded by any additional load from the new outlet and still give proper protection to the Sub.
Why? It allows me to run a single power lead out to each Sub and use a short lead from the Sub to my main active speakers, which are mounted as Tops on each Sub.
I use High Level signal outputs from the Tops to feed the Subs. So again, a long XLR lead out to each of the Tops and a short cable from each Top to its Sub.
This reduces cabling to two long leads to each stack rather than four.
These 10" Subs aren't going to loosen your fillings, but they are fast/musical and go down to the very reasonable upper twenties in room. They integrate well with the Tops and in my almost near field listening position, provide more than adequate SPL.
