The
ClarityCap ESA's much better suit the HF unit in the Tannoy Drivers and
do not excite the 3kHz peak which leads to the infamous Tannoy Honk,
they are much better suited in this respect than the others I tried,
which were: Mundorf Supremes, Sonicap Gen I, Jantzen Superior Z-Cap and
some Russian PETP's. The exception for the capacitors was the 3.3uF in
the HF notch filter, here a Mundorf EVO Oil proved better than
anything else I had tried in this position. I can not stress enough how
much the choice of capacitor type effected the overall voicing. They
literally sound like different speakers, it made that much difference.
I am very satisfied, done with tweaking and will move on to the
cabinets now.
